A. p. 'Chitose yama'
UPRIGHT  •  7-10'  •  5-8  •  SUN-PT SHADE
This old cultivar has large, deeply-divided leaves and, as the tree ages, cascading branches become an increasingly dominate aspect of its youthful upright form. In maturity it is much broader than tall. Spring growth starts out a soft red. It soon turns green for most of the year but brightens to glorious scarlet for fall. 10" sizes only @ $65.00 - $75.00

A. p. 'Corallinum'
UPRIGHT  •  7'-8'  •  ZONE 6-8  •  SUN TO PT SHADE
In spring, small leaves erupt in a pink color somewhere between maraschino cherries and cocktail shrimp. Summer's green is often speckled with bits of the pink. The transition reaches each leaf at a different moment so that, in mid season, a thoroughly green leaf and a stubbornly pink one can sit side by side. The mottled result is evocative, as is the name, of a sea's coral reef. #1 @ $35.00; #2 @ $50.00; larger available

A. p. 'Crimson Carole'
UPRIGHT  •  9-12'  •  5-8  •  SUN TO PART SHADE
This red, upright tree has deeply divided and distinctly serrated leaves. These leaves look like a feather fan that has been spread wide open. Fall color is a rich red. #2 @ 50.00; 10" @ $65.00

A. p. 'Elmwoodii'
UPRIGHT  •  5-9'  •  5-8  •
Leaves are deeply divided and variegated, especially in the spring when pink contrasts strongly with green veins. #1 @ 38.50; #2 @ $50.00

A. p. 'Enkan'
UPRIGHT DWARF  •  3-5'  •  5-8  •  SUN-PT SHADE
NEW: Deep purple strap leaves hang from airy purple branches and are sway in breezes like decorations strung for a party. Grows slowly into a small broad tree. (syn. 'Aiken le') #1 @ 38.50

A. p. 'Ezo nishiki'
UPRIGHT  •  15-18  •  ZONE 5-8  •  SUN-PT SHADE
Large leaves display glorious colors through out the year. The reds are brighter and a touch of orange is stirred into fall's scarlet. This is a vigorous, sturdy, upright tree with good branching. It grows taller than wide and is a personal favorite. #1 @ $35.00, #2 @ 50.00; 10" container specimens available @ 65.00 & 95.00

A. p. 'Fairy Hair'
UPRIGHT DWARF  •  1-2'  •  6-8  •  PART SUN; PART SHADE
This is an unexpectedly tough little creature. The leaf lobes are remarkably fine and may show some burn by summer's end but in fall they still sparkle red like the fine spray from fireworks. #2 @ $85.00

A. p. 'Fireglow'
UPRIGHT  •  10-12'  •  ZONE 5-8  •  SUN TO PART SHADE
This selection retains red all season while the actual tones of red do change. Spring leaves emerge in an array of bright rose colors then darken. Backlit in summer, the leaves flicker like campfire flames on a breezy evening. Fall brings on scarlet. Summer heat does not tend to burn 'Fireglow". It is an excellent choice for an upright red that does not get overly tall. #1 @ $35.00, #2 @ $50.00; 10" container sizes available at $65.00-$125.00

A. p. 'First Ghost'
UPRIGHT  •  4-7'  •  6-8  •  PART SUN; PART SHADE
Originated as a sport on ‘Aka shigitatsu sawa’. This ghost leafs out white with a hint of pink, later turning green with cream. Leaves are deeply divided and delicate. Protect from direct sun and excessive wind. #2 @ 50.00

A. p. 'Fjellheim'
UPRIGHT  •  5-8'  •  5-8  •  SUN TO PART SHADE
A very exciting new palmatum, 'Fjellheim' is a dwarf coral bark so will add winter color in your garden without taking over a large space. The leaves grow tightly along the stems, have some warm color in the spring and turn gold in the fall. we have 1 10" container with older specimen @ 135.00

A. p. 'Geisha'
UPRIGHT DWARF  •  2-3'  •  6-8  •  PART SUN; PART SHADE
Emerges shocking pink-red then becomes a fantastic mix of pink and white splattered with two tones of green, recalling the colors of Japanese silks. Colors do fade by late summer. This plant needs some extra TLC, especially while young. #1 @ 40.00

A. p. 'Glowing Embers'
UPRIGHT DWARF  •  18-20'  •  ZONE 5-9  •  SUN TO PART SHADE
Bright green leaves conrast uprigt branches of the deep red of a late night camp fire. Fall color is super scarlet! This tree is fast growing and very tolerant of both heat and drought. Selected and named by Michael Dirr and not to be confused with a previous cultivar with red leaves by the same name. larger sizes only available
